EVEN as Payal Kapdia continues to create new cinematic milestones for Indian cinema, her poetic and tender debut feature narrative All We Imagine As Light is now streaming on Disney+Hotstar. The Grand Prix-winner is now competing at the 82nd Golden Globes as Kapadia has scored nominations in two key categories: Best Director and Best Motion Picture (Non-English Language). All We Imagine As Light follows the lives of two Malayali nurses — Prabha (Kani Kusruti) and Anu (Divyaprabha) – who work together at a Mumbai hospital and share a flat. The narrative also explores female bonding with Parvati (Chhaya Kadam), a cook who moves to her coastal village after losing her home to redevelopment in Mumbai, being another pivotal character in the film.
