If you have space in your TV-watching palette after the return of Succession and Ted Lasso with new seasons in March, there’s more coming in April. There’s the crime thriller Citadel starring Priyanka Chopra, guilty pleasure Indian Matchmaking 3, the return to Indian cinema’s Golden Age in Jubilee and the last season of the comedy-drama, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
IRL – In Real Love: Netflix
Streaming on: April 6
IRL: In Real Love is Netflix’s first dating reality show. As per The show’s official description reads, “Four singles seeking love navigate its ups and downs through real and online connections — but will they choose virtual romance, or go offline?” It will be hosted by Rannvijay Singha and Gauahar Khan.
Jubilee: Amazon Prime Video
Streaming on: April 7
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane, Jubilee is set against the backdrop of the Golden Era of Bollywood. It follows the story of “a studio boss, his movie-star wife, a trusted aide, a rising star, a nautch girl and a refugee and the gambles they’re willing to take in pursuit of their dreams, passion, ambition and love.” The series is backed by an ensemble cast including actors Prosenjit Chatterjee, Aditi Rao Hydari, Aparshakti Khurana, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sidhant Gupta, Nandish Sandhu, and Ram Kapoor. The first five episodes of the series will start streaming on April 7 and the remaining five episodes will be released on April 14.
Rennervations: Disney+ Hotstar
Streaming on: April 12
The non-scripted four-part series Rennervations has actor Jeremy Renner renovating the old vehicles so that they can be used by local communities in need. The series will show Renner travelling across the globe. He will be accompanied by actor Anil Kapoor during his India visit. Other stars who will be making appearances on the show include, Vanessa Hudgens, Sebastian Yatra and Anthony Mackie. In the trailer of the series, Renner had explained that he would reimagine “decommissioned government vehicles” in the series to help local communities–in Rajasthan, Reno, Chicago, Cabo San Lucas–in a “different way”.
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel S5: Prime Video
Streaming on: April 14
The final season of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel will have Miriam Midge Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan) coming closer to her long-awaited success but only to realise that the road ahead is still a long one. The first three episodes of the series will stream on April 14 and then a new episode will be released weekly. Besides Brosnahan, the series also stars Tony Shalhoub, Alex Borstein, Marin Hinkle, Michael Zegen, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, Reid Scott, Alfie Fuller and Jason Ralph. The series finale episode will air on May 26.
Mrs Undercover: ZEE5
Streaming on: April 14
In the ZEE5 film Mrs Undercover, Radhika Apte is seen essaying the role of a housewife until she is recruited back as an undercover agent to take down a serial killer who is targeting strong and independent women. From the trailer, the film seems to be entertaining one with Apte’s Durga transforming from a meek housewife into an undercover agent who knocks off criminals with as much ease as she handles her family. The film also stars Sumeet Vyas, Shaheb Chattopadhyay, Roshni Bhattacharya, Indrashish Roy, Angana Roy, Laboni Sarkar and Biswajeet Chakraborty.
Plane: Lionsgate Play

Gerard Butler and Mike Colter’s Plane is set to release in India on Lionsgate Play. The movie follows a pilot, Brodie, who is caught in a war zone and forced to land in the middle of a storm with a fugitive in tow. Having severely damaged his aircraft, will Brodie make it home to his daughter? Alaka Sahni of The Indian Express wrote in her review of the film, “Plane isn’t the best edge-of-your-seat thriller. But it probably will go well with a bucket of popcorn.”
Tooth Pari: When Love Bites: Netflix
Streaming on: April 20
Starring Shantanu Maheshwari and Tanya Maniktala, the fantasy thriller Tooth Pari has a human-vampire love story at its heart. The series has Shantanu playing a dentist and Tanya’s character Rumi is a vampire. Tanya visits Shantanu’s clinic with a broken fang and the two fall in love. Now what will come out of their relationship will be known on April 20, when the series will start streaming on Netflix. It also stars Adil Hussain, Revathy, Saswata Chatterjee and Tillotama Shome.
Indian Matchmaking S3: Netflix

Sima Taparia will soon be back with a new season of the Netflix series Indian Matchmaking. Created and written by Smriti Mundhra, the third season of the series will see ‘Sima aunty’ trying to find a perfect match for the millennials. The official synopsis of the show reads, “From London to New Delhi, Miami to New York, Sima will manage more expectations than ever before from clients, old and new. Drawing from her decades of experience, intuition and traditional methods, Sima strives to help some lucky singles find their destinies.”
Citadel: Amazon Prime Video
Streaming on: April 28
Citadel, the most-awaited series of Russo Brothers (Anthony and Joe Russo), starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, will finally start streaming on Prime Video on April 28. The six episodes spy-drama revolves around two elite agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Chopra) of the global spy agency Citadel. Both their memories were wiped after a life-threatening attack eight years ago, and now they lead a normal life with new identities. But soon they are back on a mission to save the world as a former colleague Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci) tracks Mason and seeks his help. It also stars Lesley Manville, Osy Ikhile, Ashleigh Cummings, Roland Møller, and Caoilinn Springall.
